[LSF/MM/BPF TOPIC] SLOB+SLAB allocators removal and future SLUB improvements (Vlastimil Babka)

Linux kernel has three objects allocators, namely SLOB, SLAB, and SLUB. Vlastimil and many developers have tried to make it only one single allocator. Deprecation of SLOB has made some progress so far. Vlastimil proposes an LSF/MM/BPF topic for discussing deprecation of SLAB and SLUB futur eimprovement.

SLOB has deprected in 6.2. Vlastimil tries to further remove it completely immediately for-next, and from v6.4.

After the one week, third release candidate for Linux v6.3 has out. It’s unusually huge due to big changes for git-ignore scripts removal and kvm selftests cleanups. Other than those, nothing unusual, so not real worrisome release.

Below is the diffstat of the releases in the last two years.
